TOO-O-O much time between legs Saturday for only 16 starts and 13 downrivers. Need to have some fillers to keep peoples attention. Lots of people just left Capt John area due to delay. One idea would be to have a poker run type for family boats. Hellsgate to Hellers etc! every race needs same thing. People won't continue to travel to watch with the numbers we are racing in Salmon and Snake races ! Just my 10294 cents worth !

Weve done the 3hr drive for all of the Thunder races. We park mostly at Wild Goose to enjoy the races, along with about 16 to 18 other pleasure boats/tour boats within sight of the Goose. Seemed like everyone was having fun. After Sat. legs we ran up to the Imnaha and eased on back to heller by late in the day, plenty of boats, rafters, and rain.
Plenty of wave runners on the river, kinda fun to watch. Maybe something could be organized with them to entertain.
Back in '07 watching at Time Zone on the Salmon, between legs, one of the safety boats pushed off and was playin in the Green Room for a while, big crowd pleaser. Was a orange HCM twin I think. That kept the people there.

I say make the overall distance shorter and add another leg like the St. Joe race. IMO.
