Bucket Lever Adjustment

Postby FRED » Wed Jul 28, 2010 10:56 am

I have dual levers on my boat and the pump is an AT - SD309 with the upgraded reverse bucket. Sometimes the bucket lever tends to move back towards neutral when I'm going down the river. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a way to adjust this or is it just a function of the pump?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hey "FRED". I think I can solve your problem. Make sure you leave your hand off of your levers especially through graveyard because there seems to be a tendency for you to pull back on them causing your bucket to drop. Problem solved... :bash: :bash: :bash:

Well if it isn't my good pal "Re-Weld". I know you're just still mad that you couldn't catch me last time we went out. Don't worry, once you downsize from the Taj Mahal, you might have a chance. Key word is "might" diablo_134)

Hey Fred, if you let me get ahead of you on the Sturgeon count, I will show you how to run graveyard on plane. Oh, and remember these words, "If your pump is white, it ain't right. If your pump is grey, then stay out of the way!"

Well it's about time you grew a set and joined the forum Shallow Minded. You'd actually be proud because I ran Graveyard on plane the last few trips down there. With the river down as much as it is to where I can see everything, I'm getting my confidence back. As for letting you get ahead in the Sturgeon count.......NO WAY!!!! You're going to have to earn that one. Maybe you can team up with Spud Rider and combine your catches. So that would put you at......whatever you have because Spuddy couldn't catch crabs in a brothel

Geez, I try to post something for some honest advice and you two clowns show up. Unbelievable!!!

is your reverse bucket the HTRII or the SDR ? If its the HTRII you can adjust the friction on the brake box.

Oh Fred.... Sorry but I had to sign up and join the fun after I read Spuddy's comment. Hey did you check and see if there is a set screw for the bucket lever. I know you have one for the throttle control. Might just need a minor adjustment to the set screw to give the lever more resistance. Set screw should be located on the lever at the bottom. If that's not the issue then call Bill or Tee?????

Allright FRED, I must admit , I didnt pass you but it was because I was afraid that my wake might swamp your "little riffle runner" :rowing: ...Now the crab thing... I'm still laughing over that one, but my wife doesn't see the humor. off_top_ ... As far as the stugeon count, I'm not far behind, It's just that they have been caught in Hells Canyon. I hope you find a simple fix for your throttle- bucket control so we can fish this weekend

It is the HTRII. Is the brake box the piece mounted on the inside of the transom?

Yes it is the one conected to the cable on the inside of the transom. if you move the nuts that are between the brass plates so that they push the plates a little bit apart it will loosen the tension but if you loosen to far the bucket doesn't stay up. turn them the other way for more friction but if to far lever will be hard to move. Hope that helps. If you are ever near Nampa Id . I could help you. Chuck Campbell
