Rather than going through the hassle of texting the picture to yourself to resize it why not just set your phone camera to take at a lower resolution to start with? Maybe not all, but I think most phones allow the user to set the resolution down to well under the 2 mb limit. My Rugby smart will go down to 0.3 mb. Granted, if you want a higher quality picture for other purposes then that may be an issue, but 1 or 1.5 mb is still good enough quality for what most of us use the pix for and if I want a pix to print for exhibition I use a camera anyhow, not a phone with a lens the size of a match head.

Incidentally, the Samsung Rubgy Smart (think the newer version is called Rugby Pro) is supposedly military grade ... "drop it on concrete, in the lake, run over it with a jeep" ... I've never run over mine with a jeep, but I've dropped it several times and had it soak and wet in the rain ... and it still works! It doesn't have as large a screen as a lot of phones, but it's tough and a great phone for on the boat.

On my android phone when you are in camera mode you go in to settings which is a gear symbol in the upper corner. That opens up all the properties the phone's camera is set at and gives you options to change them. Other phones probably do it differently but feel sure there is a way.

To find the file type of a picture already in your album open the picture, then hit menu, then more, then details.

Please help on how to insert an image into your post. I have resized the photo small enough to fit and made it a .png image.
I write my message and try to insert the image by clicking Img at the top of where you type in your message. {img} then appears where your cursor is placed. But how do I insert it there? I am missing something here. Please help.

That img is a tag to link a picture from another site like photobucket.

Right below where you are replying to a post (non mobile version) there is a section for "Options". There is a place there to choose a file for uploading.

I prefer .jpg pictures over the mobile png. Just a preference.

Looked at the Payette today as I drove by. It appears that's the closest I'll get this season.

To make it easier on the next guy, I have put together the instructions in one place on how to post a photo.

Meanchicken, posting a photo instructions using windows 7
For a photo in your avatar, the photo that shows up when you post. You will find it in your user control panel
First resize a photo using "paint" program.
1. Click Start, Programs, Accessories, then Paint to start Microsoft Paint.
2. Open the image file you wish to edit by clicking upper left image with down arrow, then click open. Select your image and select open. Your photo will show in work area.
3. Click the Image Menu on the top tool bar and select resize and skew window will appear. Select pixels option. Make sure maintain aspect ratio is checked
4. Enter new horizontal pixel at 600, (this is the largest mean chicken will accept), vertical will automatically set itself. Click OK
5. Once you have the desired size, click File button upper left corner, then click Save As... to prevent overwriting the original image. Use image type .png for mobile devices and .jpg for desktop. Close out paint and go back to mean chicken posting area.

For photos in your message, no resizing is necessary
6. Scroll down a ways below the work area where you are typing your message to the “save, preview submit” buttons. Below the buttons is there is a tab for "Options", click it. Below the selection boxes there is a place to select a file for uploading. “If you wish to attach one or more files enter the details below”. Browse for the photo, click open, then click “add the file”.
7. Return up to where you are typing your message, place the cursor in spot you want photo to show.
8. Scroll down to “posted attachments” window, click place inline
9. Check to see that name of the photo shows in proper place in message. Photo does not show up in post until submit button is pushed. You will only see the name of the photo file.

I am attempting to put a new photo in my avatar, ( the small photo that shows up with your name when you post a message. I am attempting to use paint to resize the photo but I can't seem to find the right combination. I hope someone can help me here. I tried to send a PM to admin but it sits in my outbox. Windows 10 does not have the resize feature.
I have tried 120x100 which was the size of my other photo but the photo comes out distorted, my boat looks shorter and taller. Plus the file size is over the limit. Windows 10 does not have the resizing feature.
Thanks in advance

In valid file could be corrupted route. With Android devices the longer you have them with out a reformat the more broken links and corruption issues you get. Ever notice how when you have a phone for 3 or 4 years with out a format it starts to run shitty. People need to start looking at phones like they do their computers. Rule of thumb for Android and windows devices
Restart once a day it releases the ram and cashing will run faster and smoother. Once per year both devices need to be reformatted. Last but certainly not least if your using porn sites you need to use protection. Yes on your phone too. The phone hacking business is one of the fastest growth rates laitley. It's become very common for ransom hacks and viruses to take over Android devices. Do a bit of research and pick a good virus protection. This is not only a porn site thing it's just more common to those types of sites. I personally know of two people who's phones were locked by ransom software they did in the end send the equivalent of 100 eu so they could get their photos back... as to your photo is it one taken via your phones camera or something your have taken from the net sometimes people lock media usage rights when they don't want copy right infringements..
