Im planning trip from Poachers landing to Grand Rapids on the Athabasca river early in season. Has anyone run this before? Looking for tips and suggestions, would appreciate the advice. Thanks

130 + miles one way, pretty easy up to the Pelican Rapids, The pelican can be tricky lots of huge boulders and rock bars, below the pelican to the Grand there are sand/rock bars, tricky channels to watch out for. High water you shouldn't have a problem...maybe..lol . Do not attempt to get to the Grand on the west side in High water, there is no place to pull in and very fast water. You safest bet is to park a a couple k above the rapids on the east side and hike down to the portage trail. Taking a group down July 1 to 4 if you interested give me a call 780 689 0567, also making a couple trips in late may early June. Darcy
