Jet Boating is a recreational sport that has been slowly growing since the 60's. They are nothing like your typical egg beater lake boats.

Rivers are shallow and have many hazards such as rocks, powerful and unpredictable currents, narrow confines, and are often in very remote areas. The jet boats are designed for the types of rivers and most are welded aluminum boats powered by inboard and outboard jet drives to allow them to run shallower waters than prop boats would allow. They are built tough for the brutal pounding rivers will bring on. These boats are often considered the 4 wheel drives of boating. Then you have the hot rods. Some capable of speeds of over 140+mph while others are able of pulling 5 G's in a corner while being inside of a man made ditch not much wider then the boat itself.
